Ilda Januario est une Québécoise du Portugal. Elle
a fait ses études en Anthropologie à l'Université McGill
et à l'Université de Montréal, et a travaillé dans
le domaine communautaire des services aux immigrant(e)s. Ilda est déménagée
à Toronto en 1982 et occupe un poste d'adjointe de recherche à
OISE/UT depuis 1985. Elle y a travaillé dans le domaine de la recherche
qualitative dans plusieurs départements et centres de recherche à
OISE/UT.
Entre avril 90 et mai 93, Ilda a aussi travaillé à
temps partiel dans le Centre d'études sur femmes en éducation
à titre de documentaliste francophone. En 1994, elle a été
invitée à travailler, aussi à temps partiel, au Bureau
de la coordination des Études franco-ontariennes en éducation.
En 1996, on a ajouté à ses fonctions,
celle d'agente de communication du Centre de recherches en éducation
franco-ontarienne (CREFO).
Depuis le 17 octobre 2001 jusqu'au 31 décembre 2004, elle a partagé
son temps entre les Études franco-ontariennes en éducation,
le CREFO et le Centre d'étude sur l'éducation et le travail
/ Centre for the Study of Education & Work (CEET/CSEW). Actuellement
elle est coordonnatrice du projet de recherche "Research Network on Work
and Lifelong Leaning" (WALL) au CEET.
En plus de ses activités professionnelles, Ilda a aussi
travaillé en tant que bénévole de 1994 à 2003 à
titre de présidente de la Toronto Portuguese Parents' Association
(TPPA) et de la Portuguese-Canadian Coalition for Better Education.
