I begin this exploration of learning on the 'net with "andragogy" for two reasons. This page is intended for adult or continuing learners, and the "self-directed" nature of the theory speaks to my notion of the possibilities the 'net represents for learners.

Kearsley's comprehensive list of The TheoriesAndragogy.net While there is no doubt that Knowles popularized the theory and is cited as its author in much of the literature, some suggest that the term, or at least a derivative, was around long before Mr. Knowles.
